From Cmdr. Andy Sugimoto, Coast Guard Cutter ACUSHNET (WMEC 167) Commanding Officer Good Morning! The Cutter is finishing the last day of fish school. We have 20 new graduates today! After school, everyone is running errands, like getting haircuts, buying laundry detergent, phone calls home etc. This will be the last time we can do these things for a while. The cooks went shopping today to finish loading out food stores. These should last us for the next couple of weeks while we are at sea. All meals are carefully planned for nutritional value, portions, of course taste and balanced vs. the meal cost which the Coast Guard gives the ship. Officers pay for their own meals, but enlisted members are guaranteed three meals a day! |
